Long time San Francisco Symphony violist Geraldine Walther joined the Takács Quartet at the beginning of the 2005-2006 concert season. The San Francisco Chronicle offers assurances that the addition of Ms. Walther not caused so much as a ripple in the ensemble's combination of "vitality, zest and somewhat dark-hued urgency." The Takács Quartet makes a Celebrity Series appearance December 11 at Jordan Hall. The program includes Haydn and Borodin, and violist James Dunham joins the Takács for Mozart's String Quintet in G minor, K. 516.
